Beetroot 'Chioggia' BIO De Bolster (1065)

ZWKDB1065 Beetroot 'Chioggia' BIO De Bolster (1065)

Beetroot 'Chioggia' is an old variety originating from the Italian town of Chioggia. The flesh of the Chioggia has beautiful red-white rings and a soft sweet taste. This variety gives a good yield and nice big croots.

If cultivated in a greenhouse you can sow beetroot very well in February and March.
Sow: from April to July. For storage the second half of May is the best sowing period. Sow at 30 cm between rows, thin out later at 7 to 10 cm, do not transplant.
Harvest: Sow early from mid-July until the end of September. For storage pull up the croots in late autumn until about mid November - before frost. Remove the foliage and dig them into sand in a frost-free place.
