Beetroot 'Egyptische platronde' BIO De Bolster (1040)
Red beetroot 'Egyptian flat round' is an early variety and suitable for storage. This beet has a sweet taste. The beet cannot be transplanted. For storage, the second half of May is the best sowing period.
If cultivated in the greenhouse you can sow beetroot very well in February and March.
Sow from April to July; for storage the second half of May is the best sowing period. Distance between rows 30 cm, thin out later at 7 to 10 cm, do not transplant. Storage is well possible: in autumn before frost the beetroot can be lifted up, the foliage can be turned off and silage in sand in a frost-free place. Grows best in a sunny spot that is well fertilised the year before.
