Common pea 'Kelvedon wonder' BIO De Bolster (1240)

ZPEDB1240 Common pea 'Kelvedon wonder' BIO De Bolster (1240)

Stem pea 'Kelvedon Wonder' is a sweet wrinkled strain type (no mesh support needed). There are hardly any problems with diseases and pests. Length ca. 70 cm.

Pre-sow in a pot or seedbed as early as February and plant out in March at a planting distance of 50x3 cm. You can also sow directly in the garden in March and April at the same planting distance. The harvesting period is from June to July.

There are hardly any problems with diseases and pests, which makes it all the more attractive to grow peas yourself. Growing peas with little manure is sufficient. There are two main groups of peas: short with a length up to approx. 70 cm (trunk) and long types (rice types).

The trunk types can in principle be grown without support, but cultivation along (short) gauze or with rice wood also has advantages here: picking through is considerably easier and there are no pods on the ground. A common row distance for stem types is 50 cm, sow in the row at 3 to 5 cm.

In connection with mice and birds sow sufficiently deep (3 to 4 cm). For all capuchins, peas and pods an early sowing (March/April) gives the best results; sowing in May and later gives insufficient pods and problems with mildew.
