This variety originates from Jamaica. The Jamaican Red bears wrinkled fruits that can be about 5cm long. They ripen from fresh green to dark red.
The plant can grow to a height of about 60cm.
The fruit has a fairly sharp taste. They have a pronounced fruity taste. You can recognize apple in it, but also apricot and a hint of citrus. In the Caribbean, these peppers are very popular as an ingredient for hot sauce. Scoville: +/- 150,000
