Green bean 'Neckargold' BIO De Bolster (1171)

Green bean 'Neckargold' (Phaseolus vulgaris) is also known as bacon bean, and has fine, deep yellow and tender pods. This variety has pods of ca. 23-25 cm. long. This bean is a sturdy plant type with deep rooting. Resistant against bean roll mosaic virus (V1).

Sow: 4-5 beans per stick, at a distance of 75x75 cm. Make a stable construction on which the beans can climb. Can be sown from mid-May to mid-June. Harvest: in the period July-September. Pick regularly (2x a week) to keep the growth in.

In greenhouse cultivation you can also let the beans climb up along a rope; the rope is attached to a horizontal steel wire for example. This saves you having to build a construction of poles. Growing beans in the greenhouse generally gives extra yield.
