Green-leaved chicory is a typical vegetable for autumn and early winter, which can tolerate some frost. The elongated heads can be used both raw and cooked, just like endive. Grows on any soil, a light fertilizer is sufficient.

Preferably sow directly (on the spot), the best sowing time is from June to mid July. A good planting distance is 30x15 cm. In case of frost, transplant the crop under glass, removing the bad outer leaves.
