Cauliflower 'Alpha 7' (Brassica oleracea) produces large, firm and white cauliflowers. Cover the cabbage to prevent discolouration. This variety is very tasty! Requires some growing experience.
For the earliest harvest sow late September/early October, overwinter in a greenhouse and plant out in mid March at 60 x 50 cm, in a greenhouse or outdoors. Cultivation of the Cauliflower Alpha gives the least chance of infestation by cabbage fly or caterpillars. The harvest is in June. It can also be sown in Jan - Febr. under glass, then transplant mid April at 70 x 50 cm, the harvest at the end of June - July.
