Lovage is also known as the 'maggiplant' and is used in soup, among other things. This herb is perennial and prefers a humid place. Lovage can tolerate some shade well.

Lovage is a perennial herb. Height up to more than 2 metres. Sow from April to June, preferably in a humid place. Later thin out or transplant at 60x60 cm planting distance.

If you grow Lovage for the spicy leaves then the plant is not suitable as a bee plant. If you let Lovage grow without harvesting, flowers will shoot into the plant which bees and butterflies find very attractive.
