Sweetcorn 'Golden Bantam' BIO De Bolster (1940)
Sweetcorn 'Golden Bantam' is a delicious sweet sweet corn. Overfertilisation results in less sweet corn cobs. For the best result it is important to harvest the cobs on time and consume them immediately. The time of harvest can be recognised by the drying of the plumes on top of the cobs.
Pre-sow in a tub/tray in April and allow to germinate indoors at a temperature of 15-20 degrees Celsius. After germination plant out in May-June at 75x20 cm if temperature permits. During growth side shoots develop, on the underside of the main stem. Break these off, so that the plant puts all its energy into the main stem and the spikes on the main stem.
