The caper plant Capparis spinosa is a shrubby plant in the family Capparaceae. The plant produces the capers used as flavorings in food preparation, and the caper apples or apple capers, which are eaten as snacks. The striking flowers have white or pink petals and long stamens with violet anthers.  
Stratify the seed for 90 days at 5°C in moist sand. Pre-chill for two months at 1-5°C.
