Elephant Garlic Allium ampeloprasum var. Ampeloprasum 1 plant in pot

PEPTGLOOLI Elephant Garlic Allium ampeloprasum var. Ampeloprasum 1 plant in pot

Originating in Eastern Europe (Balkans) and Central Asia and widely used in North America. Also known as leek or ampelok garlic.
Each bulb consists of four to six cloves almost as large as a small bulb of regular garlic. Taste similar to traditional garlic, but slightly less pronounced. Size 30/40.  Harvested from July to September. Also a culinary hit because everything is edible .... The cloves themselves can be used as an admittedly soft garlic , but thanks to its size also perfect for fermenting into black garlic. Stems and the green leaves can be used as leeks, and the flower is edible as well.
Very little susceptible to diseases (such as rust), allowing it to have a long cycle conducive to the growth of its cloves, which can reach a truly impressive size. It also develops numerous mini tubers at the base of the plant, which can be planted out the following year.
