Black Star, also known as "Blackstar", is a tomato variety that originated in Russia. The round, flattened fruit averages 300 to 500g. They ripen to a dark, black-brown-red-green colour over a period of about 80 to 85 days. This species can survive in colder places.
The tomatoes get a dark green gel around the mature seeds and have a delicious, sweet taste. They are mainly used in salads and cold dishes.
