Bird's Eye is a hot pepper variety that originated in Guyana in Africa. The small, elongated peppers are about 1 to 2cm long with a diameter of + / - 0.5cm. They ripen to a red colour over a period of more than 100 days. Can be grown in pots.
The peppers are very hot. They are used in the preparation of piri-piri dishes. They are also ideal for drying and grinding into chilli powder. Scoville: 100,000 - 225,000
The plants can vary in height between 30 and 120cm.
