Hot pepper De Padrón 10 seeds TessGruun
This species originates from Herbón in the province of La Coruña, Galicia, in the north-western part of Spain. It dates back to the 16th century, cultivated in the village of Padronian Herbón by monks in the monastery of Convento Franciscano, after being returned from the Spanish colonies in South America. The Padrón bears cone-shaped fruits with fine flesh that grow about 5 to 8 cm long. They ripen in 85 days from olive green to yellow green and finally end in red. Another characteristic of this plant is that it bears fruit with a relatively sharp taste as well as a mild taste.
The productive plant grows to a height of 60 to 90 cm and gets white flowers.
The fruit has a sweet taste. Some peppers are sharper, others are milder. The best way to eat them is when they are green and preferably fried in oil. Also very tasty in sauces. Scoville: +/- 500 - 2500
All of our TessGruun heirloom seeds are pure, meaning they are not hybrid, free of chemical treatment, non-GMO and poison free.
