Lollo Rossa BIO De Bolster (1837)

Lollo Rossa is a fast growing reddish brown curly lettuce with very decorative and soft leaves. Due to the plant type (low crusting) natural enemies such as ichneumon wasps and ladybirds can better fight the aphids. All lettuce varieties are easy to grow. Lettuce has a short growing period (6 to 8 weeks) and it is therefore important to prick out/transplant the plants at a young stage. Lettuce is especially tasty if you do not fertilise too much. If you want to eat lettuce every week, you have to sow/plant regularly. The first sowing under glass can already take place in February, in the open air from mid March. By planting a part of the lettuce closer to each other and harvesting earlier, you can suffice with 1 sowing every 3 to 4 weeks.
