Cabbage lettuce BIO De Bolster (1810)

Cabbage lettuce 'Zwart Duits' gives a tender cabbage lettuce for spring and summer. The name 'Black German' refers to the seed colour.

Lettuce requires good fertilisation and sufficient moisture. Lettuce has a short growth period (6 to 8 weeks) and it is therefore important to prick out/plant the plants in a young stage. If you want to eat lettuce every week, you will have to sow/plant it regularly. The first sowing in a greenhouse can already take place in February, in open ground from mid March. A usual planting distance is 30x30 cm. By placing part of the lettuce a little closer together and harvesting earlier, you can suffice with 1 seed per 3 to 4 weeks.

TIP: also suitable as a babyleaf (sowing period: May-August)!
