The very early Savoy cabbage de la Saint Jean is a very tasty large, round, green cabbage. It can be harvested from June to September. It is especially early and gives a good yield. Savoy cabbage de la Saint Jean can be boiled, stewed, with bacon, butter, stuffed, used in stews or also in soups. Savoy cabbage can endure some frost and can therefore remain in the garden for quite a long time. Sow indoors (February-March) and plant out at 60 x 50 cm. Requires well fertilized, moisture-retaining soil.
